In this show, John talks with a modern day hero about what it is like to serve God in a war zone. Canon Andrew White exercised a remarkable ministry of reconciliation in the Middle East as the Archbishop of Canterbury's political envoy to the Middle East. In that role he was involved in conflict resolution, and hostage release negotiations with some very high profile individuals. He then served as the Vicar of Baghdad from 2004 until 2014 and witnessed both incredible miracles and great tragedy as his congregation suffered much in the ongoing conflict in Iraq following the American invasion of Iraq in 2003. That invasion was dubbed Operation Iraqi Freedom by the US Military.
Canon Andrew White has great faith in God and is filled with expectation that even in deep trials the people of God can also expect the very real presence of God. His book, Glory Zone in The War Zone, recounts the stories of how God broke through the darkness in Iraq.
A monk, who lived on a remote peninsula in the Eastern Mediterranean, was sought by many orthodox Christians for his wisdom.
Elder Paisios (1924-1994), lived a life of prayer and devotion on Mount Athos, a center for Eastern Orthodox spirituality.
For this Christmas monologue, John has chosen to contrast some end times quotes of Elder Paisios with additional quotes from Patrick Wood's latest book, The Final Betrayal: How Technocracy Destroyed America.
Mark Sutherland and I discuss the appalling Hanukkah murder on Bondi Beach.
In this show, John reviews Patrick Wood's latest book: The Final Betrayal, by Patrick M. Wood & Courtenay Turner.
The book uncovers the way the technocrats have taken over the US federal government under the Trump administration.
The book makes distrubing reading but I believe it is essential information.
